Tips for Handling Septic Related Issues
Prevention
When was the last time your tank was pumped? Septic tanks should be pumped every 3 years.
When was the last time you had your tank looked at? Regular maintenance check ups can help prevent many septic issues.
Direct runoff water away from the drain field to keep the area from getting even worse.
Keep rain gutters clear of debris and make sure all gutters drain away from the drain field area.
Do not drive any heavy equipment or other vehicles that could compact the soil over the drain field.
Plant only grass above the drain field.
